University of Washington brand guidelines
The University of Washington brand center pairs core design elements and ready-to-use toolkits with active internal communities of practice.
Freedam's take — I love when large university brands acknowledge that guidelines only work if people actually talk to one another. The University of Washington does this nicely by pairing their core identity pieces, like Husky Purple and Spirit Gold, with dedicated communities of practice. You can grab foundational copy or a PowerPoint deck, but you can also find groups like Word Nerds or the Social Media Roundtable to ask questions. It treats brand governance less like an enforcement manual and more like a shared craft across a sprawling campus, which is always refreshing to see.

What I could not see
- Template files behind the Templates navigation item were not captured in this evidence bundle.
- Full color specs including HEX, RGB, and CMYK codes could not be viewed from the captured headings alone.
Ideas to borrow
- Listing real, role-based communities of practice alongside visual assets helps decentralize brand governance across large organizations.
