Kuwait University brand guidelines

Kuwait University presents a bilingual brand identity portal covering logo usage, departmental marks, colors, and typography.

Freedam's take — I like how direct Kuwait University is with its core visual rules. The identity site sits right inside the main university web structure, offering dedicated sections for logos, typography, color palettes, and presentation assets. I noticed clear guidance around sub-logos, stating that individual colleges and departments cannot invent separate marks and must draw from the parent identity. It is also great to see native Arabic language support alongside English. Even though font downloads link out to an internal SharePoint space, the essential brand foundations are clearly outlined.

What I noticed

  1. The website provides full navigation and content in both English and Arabic.123
  2. Colleges and work centers are strictly prohibited from creating independent logos and must use approved sub-logos derived from the primary mark.4
  3. The typography guidelines specify Cairo for logos, Somar for digital applications, and Times New Roman for correspondence and reports.5
  4. Font files are hosted externally via a Microsoft SharePoint link.6

What I could not see

  • Could not inspect the downloadable PDF guidelines or SharePoint-restricted font assets without accessing external files.

Ideas to borrow

  1. Strictly limiting sub-brands to derived parent lockups helps universities maintain visual unity across disparate colleges and departments.4
