City of San Diego press and asset kit

The City of San Diego provides a practical asset page offering direct downloads for primary logo lockups and a link to their visual style guide PDF.

Freedam's take — When I looked through the City of San Diego's communications portal, I noticed how straightforward and utilitarian it is. Rather than building an elaborate web interface for their visual identity, they host direct file downloads for primary logo variants right on the page alongside a link to their visual style guide PDF. Each logo comes neatly separated into high-resolution and low-resolution options across JPG and transparent PNG formats. It feels grounded in civic practicality, offering public partners and vendors the fundamental assets they need without any unnecessary ceremony.

City of San Diego Logo Downloads Captured 15 Sep 2026

What I noticed

  1. The page includes a direct download link to a visual style guide in PDF format.1
  2. Logo assets are provided in both high-resolution 300ppi and low-resolution 72ppi files across JPG and transparent PNG formats.2345
  3. The page sits within the city government's main website shell, featuring standard civic navigation and a search tool.678

Numbers refer to the screenshots above.

What I could not see

  • The contents of the visual style guide PDF were not visible in the page capture.
  • Only a subset of the logo download links were listed in the evidence bundle.

Ideas to borrow

  1. Providing explicit download links for both 300ppi and 72ppi files helps non-designers quickly choose the right resolution for print or web without needing to convert assets themselves.
