NC State University brand guidelines

NC State University's brand portal provides comprehensive guidelines, editorial resources, and an asset-rich download hub built on WordPress.

Freedam's take — I really appreciate how direct and practical NC State's brand portal is. Built on WordPress, the site gives campus communicators and designers immediate access to what they actually need day to day. Along with standard guidance around editorial style and voice pillars like inventive and driven, there is an extensive downloads hub. I like that they provide ready-to-use digital assets ranging from presentation templates and email signatures to an entire icon gallery with more than 120 marks. Everything feels organized around getting real work done without unnecessary friction.

What I could not see

  • Could not view gated or intranet-only resources beyond the publicly visible pages.
  • Could not inspect the full set of 30+ download links truncated in the capture.

Ideas to borrow

  1. Colleges and large distributed institutions can offer a unified, searchable icon library to maintain consistency across departmental communications.
