Freedam's take

I like how clear Denison University keeps its landing page. Instead of overwhelming you right away, it welcomes visitors with a sunlit campus photo and a search bar, then lays out every resource as distinct cards. You can jump straight into specific topics like logos, co-branding, photography, or branded templates without hunting through nested navigation. Including direct entry points for campus filming and athletics right on the front page feels especially practical for a campus community. It acts as an approachable, visual switchboard for everyone creating university communications.

What I noticed

  1. The hero section displays a campus photograph with a red Denison wordmark and the tagline 'Communicating Denison's values and voice with consistency and clarity.'12
  2. A central search bar with an icon is embedded directly inside the hero area.3
  3. Resource topics are arranged in a card grid below the hero, featuring titles, thumbnails, globe icons, and descriptive copy.456
  4. Dedicated sections exist for operational needs including Campus Filming Guidelines, Trademarks & Licensing, and Denison Athletics.789

Numbers refer to the screenshots above.

What I could not see

  • Could not inspect the contents of individual resource sections, asset downloads, or template files behind the cards.
  • Could not view protected areas accessible via the login button.

Ideas to borrow

  1. Using visual cards that combine a thumbnail, brief summary, and icon on the landing page offers a welcoming way to route campus staff to distinct sub-guidelines.46
